Meagan Good And DeVon Franklin Confirm They Are Divorcing

Actress Meagan Good and Pastor DeVon Franklin has officially called it quits after nine years of marriage.

According to the Blast, DeVon filed for divorce. Legal documents said a case was opened at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, California. Also in the docs, DeVon states that they have been separated since August 21, 2021.

The couple released a statement on social media after the news broke.

“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,” Good, 40, and Franklin, 43, share in a joint statement.

“We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” they continue.

“We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other,” the pair adds.

DeVon asked the court to terminate its ability to award either of them spousal support — which usually indicates a prenup is involved.

The couple never had children together, so child support is off the table as well. Back in 2019, Meagan shared a video saying that she was “getting ready for babies” but they never had kids.

Meagan and DeVon met while working on the 2011 film Jumping the Broom. They got engaged in May 2012 and wed in June 2012.

Leading up to the marriage and the years after, the couple have documented their love. They even wrote a book entitled, “The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love.”

In the 2015 book, they shared details about their courtship and values, including saving sex for marriage.

There has been rumors that there was trouble in the Franklin’s marriage but no word yet on why they are divorcing. DeVon on marked “irreconcilable differences” for the reason.
