Man Stabbed To Death Trying To Stop A Hit-And-Run Driver

A man was stabbed to death after trying to stop a hit-and-run driver in Baldwin Park, CA.

The Baldwin Park Police Department responded to a call of a hit-and-run crash between a car and two pedestrians Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found two people hit by a car: a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy. Both suffered minor injuries.

Investigators learned that the driver crashed into a parked vehicle and left the scene on foot.

A family member of the two victims tried to chase down the suspect and hold him until help arrived but the suspect stabbed the family member in the chest. He later died. He was 35-year-old.

The suspect was eventually arrested by police in El Monte several blocks away from the crash site.
