LeVar Burton To Receive The Lifetime Achievement Award At Children and Family Emmys

LeVar Burton, who has been a staple in many childhood memories, will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement at the Emmys.

According to TV Line, the honor will be held at this year’s newly expanded Daytime, Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle, News & Documentary and Children’s & Family Emmy Award ceremonies.

All Emmy events are schedule to be in-person this year after being virtual for 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year marks the launch of the Children’s & Family Emmy Award ceremony — the first expansion in the competition since 1979.

LeVar has earned more than 20 Emmys over his career.

As you know, we always make it our business to celebrate LeVar. He had a successful run guest-hosting Jeopardy!, and led the Rose Parade as their Grand Marshal. He’s also hosting the National Spelling Bee, which is set to air on June 2.

The 1st Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards will be held Dec. 11 at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles.

Congratulations LeVar!
