Lauren Bennett, Singer Featured on LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” Dies at 37

The music world is mourning the loss of British singer-songwriter Lauren Bennett, best known for her unforgettable vocals on LMFAO’s global smash hit “Party Rock Anthem” and as a member of the pop girl group G.R.L. Bennett has died at the age of 37.

Her death was announced Monday in a heartfelt statement shared by her G.R.L. bandmates on social media. No cause of death has been publicly disclosed.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” the group wrote. “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us.”

Born in Meopham, Kent, England, Bennett began pursuing music at a young age, performing in local talent competitions before landing a spot in the girl group Paradiso Girls. The group earned attention with its 2009 single “Patron Tequila” featuring Lil Jon and Eve, helping introduce Bennett to a wider audience.

Her career reached new heights in 2011 when she provided vocals for LMFAO’s chart-topping anthem “Party Rock Anthem.” The song became one of the biggest hits of the decade, topping charts around the world and becoming a defining dance-pop record of the era. Bennett also toured with LMFAO and collaborated with artists including will.i.am, CeeLo Green, and Pitbull.

In 2013, Bennett joined G.R.L., the girl group created by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin. The group found success with songs including “Ugly Heart,” “Vacation,” and “Wild Wild Love” with Pitbull.

G.R.L. endured tragedy in 2014 following the death of fellow member Simone Battle. Bennett and the remaining members honored Battle’s memory by releasing the emotional single “Lighthouse” while promoting mental health awareness.
