JT, born Jatavia Shakara Johnson, received a two-year prison sentence for credit card fraud in 2018, and was initially expected to be released in 2020.
The rapper was set free after filing a motion in May to be placed in a halfway house.
JT’s City Girls partner Yung Miami was first to share the good news on social media, writing, “You b—–s in trouble!! My b—h is home!”
The duo continued to celebrate by sharing a new single, “First Day Out,” which sees JT freestyling over a beat produced by Twysted Genius.
Throughout JT’s prison sentence, Yung Miami, born Caresha Brownlee, has held the group down — now she has her partner back. It looks like 2020 is going to be a good year for this duo.
Welcome home, JT!
