Jeezy And Jeannie Mai Tie The Knot In Atlanta

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are officially married!

The rapper tied the knot with The Real co-host a year after their engagement.

The couple exchanged vows at their Atlanta home on Saturday, March 27, according to Vogue.

“We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate,” Mai told the magazine. “But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”

According to Jeannie, the guests — who were unaware of the ceremony’s location — were required to have negative COVID-19 test results two days before the wedding and were given another test to take at the ceremony.

“Once everyone was tested and confirmed negative, our guests were shuttled to the surprise location—our home,” she told Vogue.

Phones were checked upon arrival, and attendees went on to the enjoy the wedding.

Singer Tyrese, who was also in attendance, serenaded Jeannie with his single, “Sweet Lady.”

The celebration later moved to the couple’s lounge, where the pajama-themed after party went down.

Jeannie, 42, and Jezzy, 43, were engaged after nearly two years of dating. Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) proposed on March 27 of last year after altering his plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

One year later, they’re now husband and wife. Congratulations to the happy couple!
