Jay Z Sends Private Jet To Ahmaud Arbery’s Attorneys To Attend Court Hearing

With a court hearing scheduled Thursday and flights unavailable, attorneys representing Ahmaud Arbery‘s family say they “started losing hope” they’d be able to attend—that is until Jay-Z stepped in to save the day.

The Arbery family’s attorney Blerim Elmazi revealed on Instagram that the rapper lent his private plane to the legal team so they could make it to a preliminary hearing in Georgia.

Attorney S. Lee Merrit expressed his gratitude as well.

Arbery, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot in February but justice for his death didn’t begin until a video surfaced two months later.

During today’s probable cause hearing, NBC News reports that a judge ruled that all three defendants — Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis McMichael, 34, and William “Roddie” Bryan (who recorded the incident) — charged in connection to Arbery’s death, would stand trial.
