Jacob Blake Released From Hospital, Enters Spinal Rehabilitation Center

Jacob Blake, who was shot by a Kenosha officer 6-weeks ago, has recovered enough to be released from a Milwaukee hospital and enter a spinal rehabilitation center in Chicago. His attorney, Patrick Cafferty, confirmed the news with CBS.

Another attorney, Patrick Salvi, revealed that the bullets from the shooting damaged the 29-year old’s stomach, kidney, liver, colon and small intestine.

“He had a bullet go through some or all of his spinal cord, at least one bullet. He has holes in his stomach. He had to have nearly his entire colon and small intestines removed,” Salvi said in August.

After Blake was shot multiple times in the back by officer Rusten Sheskey in August, his family initially said he was paralyzed from the waist down, and it was unclear if the condition was permanent.

Blake shared a video message from his hospital bed last month, which was released by civil rights attorney Ben Crump on Twitter.

Blake’s shooting is still being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Sending prayers for Blake during his recovery.
