Jacob Blake Handcuffed To Hospital Bed Despite Being Paralyzed, Father Says
Jacob Blake, who is still in the hospital after being shot by law enforcement, is handcuffed to a hospital bed although he’s paralyzed from the waist down.
Jacob’s uncle, Justin Blake, said that Jacob’s father visited his son in a Wauwatosa, Wisconsin hospital and was heartbroken to see that his son was (in his words) “chained up.”
“This is an insult to injury,” Justin said. “He is paralyzed and can’t walk and they have him cuffed to the bed. Why?”
The 29-year old father has been in the hospital for several days after Kenosha police officer Rusten Sheskey fired seven shots into his back in front of his children — who were present in the vehicle.
Reports say that Jacob was allegedly trying to break up a fight and was relieved when authorities arrived to handle it — but when he tried to leave to get his children out of a bad situation, he was shot in the back.
Justin is hopeful that Jacob will recover but the family is still questioning the need to keep him chained to the bed and they want to know the charges. Is this even necessary?
