Hip Hop Group, Run-DMC, Announces Final Concert And New Documentary

Musical hip-hop group, Run-DMC, has announced their final concert and a new documentary. One of the members of the group, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, revealed details in a recent interview with Rock The Bells.

He and group member Joesph Simmons’ (Rev Run) show will take place in April at Madison Square Garden. The concert will be the final episode of their documentary. He stated, “‘Cause it’s time for Run to go be Paul McCartney and me to be John Lennon. We done did what we could do.” Additionally, it was stated that the farewell show reportedly will include performances by some of their peers including Ice-T and Wutang Clan.

McDaniels says that they are open to selling the documentary to whoever offers the biggest check. “We’re gonna do it with Netflix or to the highest bidder,” DMC said. “It’s going to be a live production. Who wants to pay $100 million to own it?”

Tickets to the show will be open to the public.

Run-DMC History…

The Queen’s group was founded in 1983 by Joseph Simmons, Darryl McDaniel, and the late Jason Mizell. They are the first rap group to cross over into the mainstream. They released several successful albums throughout the 80s and 90s. Sadly in 2002, Mizell was gunned down and murdered in his Queens studio over an alleged drug deal.

Furthermore, the announcement of this show comes just a couple of days after Jason Mizell’s 58th heavenly birthday. McDaniels and Simmons paid tribute to their late group member on their official Twitter account.

No date for the documentary’s release or the final show has been shared. We will keep you all updated as more information is shared.
