We knew it! Empire star Taraji P. Henson said YES to her boo of two years, former NFL player Kelvin Hayden. The 34 year old Karpa Deem Gym owner of Chicago made Mother’s Day super special before asking for his bae’s hand in marriage. First Taraji was gifted with a Cartier bracelet by Hayden and then BOOM…..HE POPPED OUT A RING.

“I said yes y’all,” Henson captioned an image showing off her massive sparkler and his bangle. “He started with the Cartier love bracelet BUT that was my #Mothersday gift and then dropped to his knee and I almost passed out!!! #sheisofficiallyoffthemarket and she is sooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!!”

This is the first marriage for both 34 year old Kelvin Hayden and 47 year old Taraji P. Henson. Taraji has a 24 year old son Marcel, who is the son of her late former boyfriend William Johnson. Kelvin has at least one daughter who he refers to as Princess on his Instagram page.

No word on which state the couple will reside. Empire is filmed in New York for the most part, and Hayden owns and runs Karpa Deem daily. I’m sure they will find a way to make the commute work.
