“A woman who was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of murdering three members of a Leimert Park family was no caretaker, but an acquaintance with a “Jekyll and Hyde” personality who wore out her welcome, one of the victims’ brother said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Nancy Jackson, 55, was arrested and booked just after midnight on suspicion of murder. She is suspected in the murders of 62-year-old Phillip White, his mother, 77-year-old Orsie Carter, and her husband, 82-year-old William Carter.

Neighbors say White, a retired probation officer, had recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and they thought Jackson was helping him or with the home.

Not so, said Terry Carter, who is the brother Of White, and the son of the Carters.

“She was never a caregiver,” he said. “My brother had extended mercy to her, and offered her a place to stay.”

Carter said his brother was trying to evict Jackson, but she was resisting. But he never thought she could do something so terrible.

“To be bludgeoned to death and shot,” Carter said. “I just want to look at her in court and ask why.”

“I wanna look at her eyeball to eyeball in court and just ask her, ‘Why?’” said Carter.

Jackson was initially wanted for questioning in the deaths as a material witness.

White and the Carters were found by one of White’s sons, who had been calling his father and had come to the house to check on them. He found his father and grandparents’ bodies in a bathroom after looking through a window.

All three had blunt force trauma injuries, and two had been shot.

“Having found him was just heartbreaking,” Stephanie Gudino told CBS2. She runs a coffee shop with her family where White would eat breakfast every day. “I can’t still believe it. I’m still in, like in shock. My family is still in shock. It’s a loss.”

Can you imagine the disbelief and shock that was going through these elderly folks’ heads right before their last breath? And two of them were bludgeoned to death. We probably will never know the reason behind this senseless act, but hopefully the family will be able to gain some type of closure from all of this.

Rest in peace Mr. White, Mr. Carter, and Mrs. Orsie.
