Emmy-Winning Actor And Instagram Star, Leslie Jordan, Dies At 67

We have some heartbreaking news to share.

Beloved and feisty comedian, actor, and writer Leslie Jordan, passed away Monday morning at the age of 67.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the Chattanooga legend tragically died in a car accident around 9:30 a.m. on Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street.

LAPD said the actor suffered a medical emergency that resulted in a car crash.

The “queer icon” is best known for playing roles like Lonnie Garr in “Hearts Afire”, and Beverley Leslie in “Will & Grace.”

Leslie won an Emmy for his role in “Will & Grace” at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

He then went on to star in the sitcom “Call Me Kat” in which he played the role of Phil, the head baker.

The actor completed work on eight episodes of the show’s third season at the time of his death and was slated to film episode 9 this week.

Many celebrities and fans paid tribute to the television star, including his “Call Me Kat” co-star Mayim Bialik – who released a joint statement with Fox network.

The statement read that they will be “taking time to grieve” the loss of Jordan as well as celebrate his life and the “many gifts” he gave to them and the world.

She also added in her caption:

“They broke the mold when they made Leslie Jordan. He was a dear mentor and a beloved friend. I will miss him so much – it’s unimaginable that he’s gone. rest well sweet buddy.”
