Da’Vinchi is keeping the momentum going after the final season of BMF. The rising star has officially landed a series regular role on NBC’s hit drama Chicago Fire while also starring in Tyler Perry’s upcoming Netflix firefighter series Where There’s Smoke, making him Hollywood’s newest firefighter on two major projects.
The 30-year-old actor, best known for portraying Terry “Southwest T” Flenory on Starz’s BMF, shared his excitement on Instagram, simply writing, “Thank you, God.”
According to Deadline, Da’Vinchi has joined the cast of Chicago Fire for its upcoming 15th season as Marcus Burke, a firefighter candidate at Firehouse 51. His character is described as roguish, funny, and possessing a wry sense of humor with a rebellious streak, setting the stage for an exciting addition to the beloved One Chicago franchise.
Da’Vinchi joins returning cast members Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Miñoso, Hanako Greensmith, Jocelyn Hudon, and Brandon Larracuente. Chicago Fire Season 15 premieres October 7 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
Interestingly, this marks the actor’s second firefighter role. Da’Vinchi is also set to star as Noah in Tyler Perry’s upcoming 16-episode Netflix drama Where There’s Smoke. The highly anticipated series follows a team of firefighters as they navigate life-threatening rescues while balancing the personal struggles that await them at home. Although Netflix has not yet announced an official release date, anticipation for the series continues to build.
Da’Vinchi’s collaboration with Tyler Perry doesn’t stop there. He has also joined the cast of Perry’s upcoming Netflix film Why Did I Get Married Again?, the long-awaited third installment in the beloved franchise. In the film, he portrays the son of Marcus and Angela, played by Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith. The movie is scheduled to premiere on September 9 on Netflix.
