The year of 2018 brought us one of the most shocking deaths in Hollywood to date. Beautiful model/actress Kim Porter, long-time girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs, was found dead in her home north of Los Angeles on November 15th.

Kim had been suffering from pneumonia and had actually just called the doctor claiming to not feel any better. So after a couple of months of researching, the coroner has finally revealed the true cause of death.

Kim Porter died of lobar pneumonia, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner determined.

Lobar pneumonia is a type of bacterial pneumonia which is often caused by the flu or a virus and affects one part of the lung. Lobar pneumonia, is more severe than other types of pneumonia. It is nestled in the ‘lobe’ part of the lung and is usually caused by pneumococcus bacteria, which is becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics. This is why there is such a strong debate about whether or not getting a flu shot is worth it.

Porter was 47 years old and in the best shape of her life. But after contracting the flu, the virus viciously turned into lobar pneumonia. It appears that Kim did everything right, but unfortunately lost her life.

Kim’s two sons and twin daughters continue to keep their Mom’s legacy alive. Rest in peace angel.
