Cashier Fatally Shot After Mask Dispute in Georgia Grocery Store

A grocery store cashier in Atlanta has been shot and killed during an altercation over a mask.

According to DeKalb County Sheriff’s office, the incident took place at Big Bear Supermarket. Sheriff Melody Maddox says a male suspect pulled out a gun and shot the cashier at the location.

A 30-year veteran deputy, who responded to the shooting was also shot. He opened fire on the gunman multiple times.

The deputy and suspect were taken to area hospitals and both are in stable condition.

According to Georgia Bureau of Investigations, another cashier was grazed by a bullet. She was treated on the scene.

Later on, the gunman was revealed to be 30-year old Victor Lee Tucker, Jr. of Palmetto, Georgia. Police has warrants for his arrest.

The identity of the cashier nor deputy has been revealed yet.

The investigation is still ongoing.
