Cam Newton Signs 1-Year Deal With The Patriots

Things are looking up for quarterback Cam Newton. The former Carolina Panthers star just signed a one year deal with the New England Patriots but there are a few stipulations involved.

The contract is only for one season, and its said to be incentive-based, — not much money upfront. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the contract is worth up to $7.5 million — if he hits all his bonuses.

Cam would also be competing for QB time against Jarrett Stidham, another quarterback the Patriots hired after Tom Brady’s departure.

Cam has had ups and downs in his football career, mostly due to injuries but according to his Instagram page, he has been putting in the work — showing intense workouts to prepare for the season.

Good luck, Cam!
