Bruce Willis “Stepping Away” From Acting Following Aphasia Diagnosis

Die Hard legend Bruce Willis is “stepping away” from acting due to health issues. Bruce’s family has announced that the actor decided to retire after being diagnosed with aphasia.

His daughter, actress Rumer Willis, shared the news on Instagram Wednesday in a joint statement with Bruce’s wife Emma Heming Willis his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his other four children, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn.

What is aphasia? According to the Mayo Clinic, aphasia is a condition that robs you of your ability to communicate. It can affect your ability to speak, write and understand language, both verbal and written.

Willis has given us so many iconic characters in over 70 films like the Die Hard franchise, Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, Look Who’s Talking, Armageddon, Red, Unbreakable, The Fifth Elements, and the 80’s series Moonlighting.

He receive a Golden Globe, two Emmy Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006.
