Actor Bokeem Woodbine is adding another high-profile television project to his impressive résumé after joining the cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming action thriller “Disavowed.”
Woodbine has been tapped as a series regular, joining Oscar-nominated actor James Marsden and fellow cast members Norman Reedus and Sylvia Hoeks in the new series. The casting news was reported on September 17, 2026.
“Disavowed” stars Marsden as Brad Griffin, a legendary CIA case officer who finds himself abruptly fired while involved in a worldwide search for an elusive assassin accused of killing his colleague.
After being pushed out of the intelligence world, Griffin decides to pursue a $15 million federal bounty placed on the assassin. The decision sends him on a dangerous pursuit that forms the central storyline of the action thriller.
Details about Woodbine’s character are currently being kept under wraps. His role in the series has not yet been publicly revealed.
The series comes from writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who created the show based on their original idea. The pair are known for their work on projects including Iron Man and Uncharted. Marsden will also executive produce the series.
Michelle MacLaren, whose television credits include Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Morning Show, is set to direct the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Tom Spezialy, Rebecca Hobbs, Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity. Blue Marble Pictures is producing the series for Apple Studios.
For Woodbine, “Disavowed” marks another collaboration with Apple TV+. The actor previously appeared in Apple TV+’s 2025 comedy-drama series “Government Cheese.”
Woodbine is perhaps best known for his acclaimed performance as Mike Milligan in the second season of FX’s Fargo, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination. His other television credits include Halo, Wu-Tang: An American Saga and Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. His film résumé includes Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Queen & Slim.
