Body Cam Shows Police Pointing Guns At Young Children In Another Wrong Raid

Newly released body cam footage shows Chicago Police Officers entering an innocent family’s home, which resulted to another wrong raid.

The footage shows officers pointing assault rifles at young children and interrogating them with no adult present. According to reports, 14-year-old Savannah was watching her two other siblings, Telia, 11, and JJ, 7, while their mom, Krystal, was at work.

As part of its 18-month-long investigation, CBS 2 Investigators interviewed more than a dozen families and children whose homes were wrongly raided by officers. Many accused police of pointing guns at them and filed federal lawsuits and now the video footage proves it.

Here’s more on the report:

As a result of CBS 2 investigation, they learned the police department changed its search warrant policy in January. It now contains new language that aims to protect children, adds new training for officers and will track some bad raids — but instead found some significant gaps in that new policy.

This is absolutely unacceptable! Children should not be living in fear and this seems to be an ongoing issue in Chicago.

The family has joined the long list of residents who are suing the city.
