Hip-hop legend Bizzy Bone is preparing to tell one of the most painful and inspiring stories of his life through a new documentary centered on his childhood kidnapping, traumatic upbringing, and eventual rise to rap superstardom.
According to , the project has reportedly been in development since 2016 and is being created for Netflix. The documentary will chronicle Bizzy Bone’s journey from being abducted as a child to becoming one of the most recognizable voices in hip-hop as a member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Born Bryon Anthony McCane II, Bizzy Bone was kidnapped at just four years old along with his sisters by his mother’s ex-husband. During the years they were missing, the children reportedly moved through motels, foster homes, and abusive environments before eventually being found with help connected to America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh.
Speaking about the documentary, Bizzy Bone explained that his life story naturally evolved into something larger than music. He shared that his experiences with foster care, abuse, and survival ultimately shaped his path into the music industry and inspired his work as a public speaker.
The documentary is also expected to highlight the rise of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony after the group was discovered by late rap icon Eazy-E and signed to Ruthless Records in the early 1990s. The Cleveland group went on to dominate hip-hop with classics including “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and the Grammy-winning hit “Tha Crossroads,” helping pioneer their signature melodic rapid-fire flow.
