Ayesha Curry is stepping into the spotlight for a major career milestone, taking on her first leading role in a feature film. The entrepreneur, cookbook author and wife of NBA superstar Stephen Curry is set to star in Second Chance Holiday, a Christmas romantic comedy coming to The Roku Channel on November 5, 2026.
In the upcoming holiday film, Curry plays Chelsey, a relationship expert who helps others navigate love but struggles to find lasting happiness in her own romantic life. After repeatedly experiencing breakups around the holidays, Chelsey hopes to break the pattern and finally turn her luck around.
Her plans take an unexpected turn when she reconnects with her high school sweetheart, played by Matthew Daddario, known for his role in Shadowhunters. Their reunion forces Chelsey to reconsider whether a second chance at love could be exactly what she needs.
Directed by Maxwell McGuire and written by Erin Muroski, Second Chance Holiday also features Dennis Andres and Arlene Duncan. The film is produced by Muse Entertainment in association with Motion Entertainment.
Although Curry has built a successful career as an entrepreneur and television personality, she is no stranger to acting. Her earlier credits include appearances on Hannah Montana, Gary Unmarried and Good Luck Charlie. She has also appeared in the HBO sketch comedy series A Black Lady Sketch Show and the 2024 Netflix romantic comedy Irish Wish, starring Lindsay Lohan.
This latest project marks a significant step forward in her acting career, giving her the opportunity to lead a romantic comedy centered on love, personal growth and the possibility of starting over.
Curry expressed her excitement about joining the cast, describing holiday romantic comedies as magical stories that create charming worlds where anything feels possible. She also shared her hope that audiences will connect with Chelsey and enjoy the film during the Christmas season.
Her husband, Stephen Curry, publicly celebrated the milestone, sharing his pride in her accomplishments and recognizing the work she has put in behind the scenes.
With its festive setting, unexpected reunion and second-chance romance, Second Chance Holiday is poised to offer viewers a heartwarming addition to their holiday movie watchlist.
