Atlanta Pays Tribute To Legendary Rap Duo Outkast With 30-Foot Tall Mural

A mural dedicated to Atlanta’s very own Outkast has popped up in the city.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a 30-foot-tall mural of the rap duo painted in hyper-realistic black and white has been erected in a back parking lot in the city’s Little Five Points neighborhood. The mural was created by Greensboro-based muralist JEKS.

The mural is inspired by a photo iconic hip-hop photographer Jonathan Mannion took of Outkast. JEKS told the AJC that the plan was to always make a mural dedicated to Outkast but it was only solidified once Mannion agreed to collaborate.

The mural has since been shared on social media, with Big Boi himself even posting about it on Instagram.

As the AJC noted, the mural was created as part of the Outer Space Project, an annual international event aimed at beautifying public spaces.

Now hopefully we can get some new music from these two… that would be a treat!
