Here’s a beautiful Christmas story to surely get you guys in the holiday spirit.
Yesterday morning a N.C. man anonymously called a local Wal-mart store inquiring about buying toys. This guy wasn’t talking about a few barbie dolls or video games though. While speaking to a manager of the store, he made it clear that he wanted to bless some unfortunate kids abundantly with gifts and toys. Doesn’t the thought alone gives you awarm, fuzzy feeling inside?

“GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) — You can’t really appreciate just how many toys $30,000 will buy until you see it. Last week, a man called the Walmart on East Franklin Boulevard and asked to speak to a manager.
“When I took the initial call from the gentleman, he said he wanted to come in and spend some time picking out toys,” said General Manager Michael McDaniel.
McDaniel said store employees helped pick out enough toys to satisfy the $30,000 donation, which just fits into the back of a 53-foot 18-wheeler.
McDaniel then called Detective Carla Mastro with the Gastonia Police Department, who also works with children.
“I was shocked,” Mastro said, “I was trying to make sure I heard it correctly.”
She heard it correctly. There was $30,000 worth of toys waiting to be distributed to children in need of a little something on Christmas morning.
Mastro contacted a supervisor at Gaston County DSS who gladly agreed to accept the toys.
Monday morning, Walmart employees loaded more than six pallets of toys onto a truck and a police escort transported the happiness to the DSS office in Gastonia.
Two large rooms are now filled to the brim with enough toys to serve more than 500 families this holiday season.
“It really just takes your breath away,” said Heather Kauffman, a social work supervisor. “Being able to make this happen and be a small part of it, it just does a lot for you.”
It all happened because one man decided to do good for hundreds of families this holiday season. The anonymous donor said that he wanted to make the donation, in part, to help encourage others to give too.”
Hopefully this man’s actions were enough to stir up feelings of generosity in the hearts and minds of all of us. We don’t have to give $30,000 in toys like this secret Santa, but we should definitely follow his example. Hundreds of children will have a Christmas they will never forget ALL because of his selflessness.
