Veteran Soap Star Greg Vaughan Joins “Beyond the Gates”

Veteran soap star and heartthrob Greg Vaughan has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated series Beyond The Gates.

Vaughan, 52, is no stranger to daytime television. He began his acting career in the mid-1990s with early appearances on Baywatch and Malibu Shores before landing the role of firefighter Cliff Yeager on Beverly Hills, 90210.

He made his daytime television debut in 2002 as Diego Guittierez on CBS’s The Young and the Restless before joining General Hospital in 2003 as Lucky Spencer, the son of iconic supercouple Luke and Laura Spencer. Vaughan later became a fan favorite as Eric Brady on NBC’s Days of Our Lives, a role he portrayed on and off from 2012 until earlier this year. His work earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Outside of the soap world, Vaughan starred as Calvin in Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar from 2016 to 2022, opposite Rutina Wesley (True Blood), who played Nova Bordelon. Their on-screen chemistry and emotional connection became a highlight for fans of the OWN drama.

As for Beyond The Gates, the show’s producers are keeping details about Vaughan’s character tightly under wraps. However, writer and executive producer Michele Val Jean teased to Deadline in July, “I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him!”

One thing’s for sure — fans are thrilled to see Greg Vaughan back on screen, and if we’re lucky, we might just get to see him shirtless a few times too.
