Morgan Gamble, 21-Year-Old Clark Atlanta University Senior Who Worked on Netflix’s A Different World, Dies in Crash

Morgan Gamble, a promising 21-year-old senior at Clark Atlanta University who worked behind the scenes on Netflix’s A Different World sequel, has died following a high-speed crash in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gamble, a Mass Media Arts senior with aspirations of becoming a producer, died from her injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital after a collision Tuesday night, according to local news reports. Her death has left her family and community grieving the loss of a young woman they say was passionate about storytelling and determined to pursue her dreams.

A Rising Talent With Big Dreams

Gamble was studying Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University, where she was working toward a future in media and entertainment. Her family described her as someone who knew what she wanted to accomplish and took steps to make those ambitions a reality.

Her passion for producing extended beyond the classroom. Gamble worked on short films, biographies and documentaries, and her creative talents also made her the unofficial producer of family gatherings and talent shows.

Her mother, Brandi Gamble, remembered her daughter as someone who had been driven from an early age and was committed to her goals.

Gamble’s father, George Gamble, said his daughter served as a student production assistant on Netflix’s A Different World, the sequel to the beloved sitcom centered on life at the fictional historically Black college, Hillman University. She also reportedly appeared in the series’ pilot episode.

The opportunity allowed Gamble to gain valuable experience on a professional production while continuing her education at an HBCU.

Netflix’s sequel premiered in September 2026, introducing a new generation of students at Hillman while honoring the legacy of the original series.

Fatal Atlanta Crash Under Investigation

According to Atlanta police, the crash occurred Tuesday night near Hank Aaron Drive and Glenn Street, close to the former Atlanta Braves stadium.

Authorities allege that the driver, identified in local reports as Nikolai Dunford, was traveling at approximately 95 mph in an area with a much lower posted speed limit when his vehicle struck Gamble’s car.

Gamble was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Dunford faces charges that include vehicular homicide, reckless driving and speeding, according to WSB-TV. The case remains a matter for the legal process, and the allegations have not been adjudicated in court.

Gamble’s family has expressed heartbreak over the circumstances of her death and called for accountability.

Remembering Morgan Gamble

For Gamble’s family, her death represents the loss of more than a college student with a promising future. They are mourning a daughter whose creativity, ambition and love for producing were already shaping the life she hoped to build.

Her experience on A Different World reflected the opportunities available to students seeking hands-on experience in the entertainment industry. Netflix’s production partnered with HBCUs in the Atlanta University Center to help students learn from professionals and gain exposure to different areas of television production.

Gamble was pursuing that path while completing her degree, with a future that held so much promise.

Y’all Know What extends its heartfelt condolences to Morgan Gamble’s family, friends, classmates and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. May they find comfort and strength during this difficult time.
