Actress Tichina Arnold is preparing to take on a new milestone in her career as she makes her Broadway debut in the hit musical & Juliet this November.
Arnold, best known for her memorable roles in Martin, Everybody Hates Chris and The Neighborhood, will portray Angélique beginning November 3 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City. She is scheduled to remain with the production through its final performance on January 3, 2027.
The casting marks a major moment for Arnold, who has built a successful career spanning television, film and theater.
James Monroe Iglehart Returns to Broadway Production
Arnold will join Tony Award-winning actor James Monroe Iglehart, who returns to & Juliet on November 3 to reprise his role as Lance. Iglehart is widely recognized for his Tony-winning performance as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway. He also earned a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of Louis Armstrong in A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical.
Actress Aly Michalka will also join the production as Anne on the same date, making her Broadway debut.
Meanwhile, current cast members Joey Fatone, Alison Luff and Jeannette Bayardelle are scheduled to perform their final shows on November 1. Other cast members, including Corey Mach, Spencer Sutherland, Anthony Gargiula and Kenzie Ziegler, will continue through the musical’s closing performance.
A New Chapter for Tichina Arnold
Arnold has entertained audiences for decades with her comedic timing and memorable performances. In addition to her television work, her stage credits include Debbie Allen’s Alex in Wonderland, a New York City Center production of The Wiz and the Off-Broadway play Love, Loss, and What I Wore.
Her Broadway debut follows the conclusion of The Neighborhood, the CBS sitcom in which she starred for eight seasons alongside Cedric the Entertainer, Beth Behrs and Max Greenfield.
Created by David West Read, the Emmy-winning writer behind Schitt’s Creek, & Juliet offers a fresh take on William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy. The musical imagines what might happen if Juliet chose a different future after Romeo, giving her another chance at life and love on her own terms.
The production features a soundtrack of popular hits from songwriter and producer Max Martin, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Teenage Dream,” “…Baby One More Time” and “I Want It That Way.” Since opening on Broadway in November 2022, the musical has earned nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
The show is scheduled to close on January 3, 2027, after more than four years on Broadway.
Arnold’s upcoming debut offers audiences an opportunity to see the beloved television star take on a new stage role as & Juliet approaches its final curtain.
