Sony Pictures Television has officially unveiled the cast for S.W.A.T. Exiles, the highly anticipated spin-off of the hit CBS drama S.W.A.T. Shemar Moore will reprise his iconic role as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, coming out of retirement for one last mission—this time tasked with leading a new generation of raw, untested recruits.
According to Deadline, the series picks up after the events of S.W.A.T.’s eighth and final season, which closed with Hondo being forced into retirement. In Exiles, he must rebuild a unit from scratch, balancing his seasoned leadership with the unpredictable energym of his younger team.
Joining Moore in the new lineup are:
- Lucy Barrett (Co-Ed)
- Adain Bradley (Wrong Turn)
- Zyra Gorecki (La Brea)
- Freddy Miyares (When They See Us)
- Ronen Rubinstein (9-1-1: Lone Star)
While the cast is largely new, longtime fans will see some familiar faces. Variety confirms that Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit will return in the pilot episode as Sergeant David “Deacon” Kay and Commander Robert Hicks. Both were part of the core ensemble throughout S.W.A.T.’s eight-season run, though it remains unclear whether they will appear beyond the premiere.
Production on S.W.A.T. Exiles began in Los Angeles in August 2025, with Kevin Tancharoen directing the pilot. The spin-off will run for 10 episodes, a streamlined format designed to deliver a more focused, serialized story.
