A devastating crash involving a Memphis Police Department cruiser and another vehicle has claimed five lives and left three people injured in Memphis, Tennessee.
The fatal collision occurred early Sunday, October 11, at the intersection of Hickory Hill Road and East Raines Road. Authorities said the officers were responding to a call when their police vehicle collided with a passenger vehicle carrying six people. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Four Victims Identified
Authorities have identified four of the five people killed in the crash as:

● Syria Fifer, 21
● Messiah Lee, 20
● Carlesha Fifer, 19
The fifth victim has not been identified in the report cited above.
According to authorities, four occupants of the passenger vehicle died at the scene. A fifth person later died at the hospital. The sixth occupant remains hospitalized in critical condition.

“Five young people lost their lives last night, and their families, along with the families of others involved, are facing unimaginable grief today,” Young said in a statement reported by FOX10 News.
The mayor also asked the Memphis community to keep the affected families in their thoughts during this difficult time.
A makeshift memorial was established at the crash site as the community began mourning those who lost their lives.
