Lifetime is bringing a star-studded cast to Martha’s Vineyard with its upcoming original movie Love on the Vineyard, starring Paula Patton, Derek Luke and Janet Hubert.
The new romantic drama is part of Lifetime’s Love of a Lifetime movie franchise and is set against the picturesque backdrop of Martha’s Vineyard, with a particular focus on Oak Bluffs, one of America’s historic Black communities.
Patton stars as Jordan Wilson, a successful commercial real estate executive from Washington, D.C., who returns to Martha’s Vineyard with her teenage daughter after spending years away.
Her homecoming takes an unexpected turn when Jordan reconnects with Eric Robinson, her former summer love, played by Luke. The reunion marks another on-screen pairing for Patton and Luke, who previously starred together in the 2013 romantic comedy Baggage Claim.
But Jordan’s return to the island is about more than rekindling an old romance.
She becomes involved in an effort to save a beloved historic inn in Oak Bluffs, a property that carries deep meaning for the island’s Black community. As Jordan works to help preserve the historic location, she is forced to confront grief, family tensions and unresolved feelings from her past.
The story explores the connection between love, family, history and preserving a community’s legacy, while Jordan considers whether she might be ready for a second chance at love.
Hubert, best known for playing the original Vivian Banks, or Aunt Viv, on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, also joins the cast as Shirley Evans.
Behind the scenes, Tracey E. Edmonds serves as executive producer. Edmonds, whose television and film credits include projects such as Soul Food and Jumping the Broom, returns to Lifetime for the new movie. Camille Tucker wrote the screenplay, with Tailiah Breon directing.
The movie also highlights Oak Bluffs, a community with a long history as a destination for Black vacationers. That setting plays an important role in the story as Jordan works to protect a piece of the community’s history.
Love on the Vineyard is scheduled to premiere Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime, closing out the network’s fall movie slate.
