We are saddened to share the passing of actress Carla Jeffery, best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s beloved Zombies franchise. She was just 33 years old.
Jeffery’s longtime representatives at Alexanders Talent Management announced that she passed away on September 1, 2026. A cause and place of death have not been disclosed.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old,” the agency shared in a statement.
Her representatives also remembered Jeffery as more than a client, calling her family and praising her radiant smile, vibrant spirit and incredible talent.
Jeffery began her acting career at just 12 years old, making her screen debut in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, starring Mo’Nique. She went on to appear in numerous television shows, including Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up!, iCarly, Best Friends Whenever, Southland, American Vandal and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
On Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jeffery portrayed Keysha Black, appearing in 10 episodes during Seasons 6 and 7 from 2006–2008. Her character was part of the Black family that moved in with Larry David after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The family also included Leon Black, played by J.B. Smoove, and Loretta Black, played by Vivica A. Fox.
However, many fans will remember Jeffery most fondly as Bree, the aspiring cheerleader and friend of Addison, played by Meg Donnelly, in Disney’s Zombies franchise. She appeared in Zombies (2018), Zombies 2 (2020) and Zombies 3 (2022), and also voiced Bree in the 2024 animated series Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.
Her other credits included Teacher of the Year, Girl on the Edge, Exchange, Miss Guided, Lie to Me, Men of a Certain Age, Torchwood, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Uncle Buck, Suburgatory and Disney XD’s Spider-Man.
Jeffery’s twin brother, Carlon Jeffery, is also an actor, best known for his role as Cameron Parks on Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm.
Carla Jeffery leaves behind a body of work that touched audiences across television, film and Disney Channel.
