Hip-hop legends are coming together for a celebration that promises to bring generations of music fans under one roof!
LL Cool J is bringing the Rock the Bells Festival back to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for a special “Home for the Holidays” Thanksgiving weekend celebration on Nov. 29.
The star-studded lineup includes legendary R&B group SWV, hip-hop icon Lil’ Kim, and rap favorites Method Man & Redman, with more performers and special surprises expected to be announced.
The event, produced by Rock the Bells and the Black Promoters Collective, will serve as a major celebration of hip-hop culture while closing out Hip-Hop History Month.
Adding even more star power to the festivities will be a special set curated by legendary DJ D-Nice, featuring LeToya Luckett, David Banner and The LOX — Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch — among other performers.
“Hip-hop has shaped the world for more than five decades, and Rock the Bells exists to honor the people who made that history and keep the culture moving upward,” LL COOL J, founder of Rock the Bells, said in a press announcement. “There’s something special about seeing artists and fans from different generations come together under one roof.”
He added, “Bringing that energy back to Newark over Thanksgiving weekend feels right. We’re going to celebrate music, show love to the community and close out Hip-Hop History Month together.”
Black Promoters Collective President Shelby Joyner also emphasized the significance of the partnership, saying the organization was created to produce world-class live experiences that celebrate Black culture.
With icons from hip-hop and R&B representing multiple generations, the Rock the Bells Thanksgiving Edition is shaping up to be a can’t-miss celebration for longtime fans and a new generation discovering these legendary artists.
