Remy Ma is heading back to Lifetime with a brand-new psychological thriller, Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs.
The Grammy-nominated rapper stars as Ashley Preston, a woman whose carefully structured life begins to unravel after the sudden death of her estranged sister. Ashley and her husband Elliot, played by Garfield Wilson, take in her orphaned teenage niece Serena, portrayed by Aliyah Marc, hoping to give her a fresh start.
But what begins as an act of compassion soon turns unsettling as disturbing incidents inside the home create growing tension within the family. Ashley finds herself questioning everyone around her — including her daughter Luna, played by Sasha Rojen — as buried trauma, suspicion, and danger begin closing in.
The project marks another collaboration between Remy Ma and Lifetime following her appearance in the 2023 original movie ‘Girl in the Closet’.
The film is executive produced by Kara Feifer and Elisabeth Rohm through Rohm Feifer Entertainment. The production company has worked on several Lifetime thrillers, including The Dating App Killer: The Monica White Story, Wife Stalker, and Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story. Rohm has also directed Lifetime projects such as Girl in Room 13 and Girl in the Basement.
Directed by David Weaver and written by Crystal Verge, Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs premieres Saturday, June 20 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
