Van Jones And Killer Mike Use Platfoms To Encourage Prison Reform Amid Coronavirus Crisis
Van Jones and Killer Mike are using their platforms to 1) help encourage reform within the prison system, 2) inform the public that Coronavirus is a heavy toll on those imprisoned, and 3) expand their team.
Reform Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to depopulating jail cells through legislative actions which will prohibit imprisonment due to minor probation violations. There are currently 2.4 million people behind bars right now locked up — a quarter of all the people on planet Earth locked up are locked up in the U.S., and they cannot socially isolate, according to Revolt TV’s State of Emergency.
Reform Alliance was created after Meek Mill was “imprisoned due to minor technical probation violations,” as their about page explains. Meek Mills, Van Jones and Jay Z have been working together ever since to obtain their objection as a brotherhood.
“We have been working hard to get some of them out, …try to keep people from going back in for silly reasons and to get in… mask…” Van Jones.
“…we need to get people out so that they can self isolate,” Killer Mike says via Revolt TV
Prisons have large numbers of inmates and prison workers who “can not socially isolate,” Van Jones said, and it can potentially reemit Coronavirus into the societies they are located as Mike explains.
Reform Alliance recognizes that their mission is going to take a community effort. “We have leadership… from the streets to the suits…” says Jones. This is why they are currently looking to expand their immediate team. To find what positions are available visit Reform Alliance.
