10-Year-Old Found Safe After Running Away Outside Children’s Hospital
Atlanta police said a 10-year-old boy who ran from a car outside a metro Atlanta children’s hospital has been found safe.
Mario Boyd was reunited with his mother, Chanrika Boyd, 15 hours after being reported missing.
According to Mario’s aunt, she was trying to check him into Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding for medical care before he ran away from the hospital toward Edgewood Avenue.
Family members say Mario was going through a crisis because his father recently died.
Boyd went on Instagram Live telling people about her missing son when a man reached out to her and said he had found Mario.
The good Samaritan found him and told his mother that he had taken him home before eventually taking him to the hospital.
“They dressed him, they let him stay there and fed him, clothed him,” Chanrika Boyd said. “I want to tell him I thank you and I appreciate him helping us out.”
She added, “I didn’t do nothing but was kissing him and telling him how happy I was that he was ok.” Mario’s mother told WSBTV that she “also made sure he knew to never do that again.”
