Soap star Bryton James — best known for playing Devon Hamilton on The Young and the Restless — is pulling the plug on his marriage.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, James filed for divorce from his wife Brytni Sarpy, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The filing was made in Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this week.
Sources close to the couple say the two quietly separated months ago before officially deciding to go their separate ways. Bryton and Brytni — who also starred on The Young and the Restless before moving to General Hospital — first met on set and went public with their relationship back in 2019.
The two tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023, keeping their nuptials under wraps from fans and even some co-stars. But it looks like the honeymoon phase didn’t last long.
It’s unclear if the couple had a prenup, but the actor isn’t asking for spousal support, suggesting things might stay amicable. Neither has publicly addressed the split yet, though fans noticed both stars recently scrubbed a few couple pics from their social media pages.
