Waitress Still Waiting on $4000 Tip As Restaurant Says It’s Working On Verifying The Amount
A Memphis waitress, who was tipped $4,000 in February, is still waiting on her money from her employer — a Denny’s on Winchester Road.
Shikira Edwards was overly excited about receiving the huge amount — but that excitement was ended abruptly when she found out Denny’s decided to cancel the purchase to protect the customer.
According to FOX 13, they received an email from restaurant owner Han Kim claiming that the big tip was a mistake when they entered a huge amount on their debit card.
The email said the customer didn’t mean to tip the waitress that amount of money.
When FOX13 spoke to Denny’s corporate office Monday, they said they are trying to find the guest and verify the tip amount.
Here’s more from FOX 13:
A Denny’s spokesperson said they are still trying to find the customer and verify the tip amount and Kim said he is trying to contact the customer himself.
We have to be honest, something doesn’t sound right. It shouldn’t take that long to locate a customer if you have their card information — the least they could do is have a bank verify.
Regardless of the amount, Denny’s still has to pay up. She’s owed a tip — let’s hope she receives the full amount.
If this was a mistake, then all the more reason for Denny’s to contact the necessary parties immediately to correct it.
