UPDATE: The Body Of Naya Rivera Has Been Found, Sheriff Confirms

The body of actress Naya Rivera has been found. Authorities confirmed the identity of the body recovered in Lake Piru at a press conference.

Rivera’s body was found between 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Monday morning.

The discovery came amid an extensive search for the missing “Glee” star. Rivera went missing July 8 after going on a boat ride in the lake with her 4-year-old son. She disappeared while swimming in the reservoir northwest of Los Angeles, sheriff’s officials said. Her son was found asleep on a pontoon boat that had been rented some three hours earlier.

Authorities speculated that Rivera could have possibly got caught up in a current, saved her son but unfortunately couldn’t save herself.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said an autopsy will be performed to positively identify the actress as well as determine the cause of death.

The body appeared to have been in the water for several days, officials said.

Rivera has been acting since she’s was 4 years old and had some memorable roles on shows such as “Family Matters.”

Although she loved acting, her life passion was spending time with her 4-year old son Josey Hollis Dorsey.
