UPDATE: Mom of Deceased 10-Year Old Girl Says Her Daughter Was Bullied And Attacked While Substitute Teacher Was On Her Cell Phone
The mother of a fifth grader who died after a fight at her South Carolina elementary school said other students in her class have told her she hit her head on a bookshelf while the substitute teacher was distracted with her cell phone.
Ashley Wright told ABC News that she is frustrated by the lack of answers after her 10-year-old daughter Raniya died in the hospital two days after the March 25 fight at Forest Hills Elementary School in Walterboro.
The other fifth grader has been suspended. Her name and age have not been released.
It’s very disturbing that the school board has a lack of empathy regarding this horrific incident. Hopefully Ashley will receive some justice for her baby girl. Rest in peace Raniya.
