Until We Meet Again….Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino Is Sentenced To 8 Months For Tax Evasion.

Welp! It looks like Mike ” The Situation” Sorrentino is taking a lil break from us. The Jersey Shore star was sentenced to 8 months in prison for blocking Uncle Sam from getting his money.

The 36 year old had the support of his Jersey Shore family and the loving fiancee Lauren Pesce at the courthouse as he awaited the judge’s decision. Many people on Mike’s team thought that the reality star should have gotten probation only, but of course that didn’t happen.

To make matters worse, brother Marc Sorrentino was given two years for the same thing.

However, The Situation is in good spirits and still plans on marrying Lauren in November, before he starts his prison sentence.

“Situation was sentenced to 8 months behind bars and two years of supervised release. His attorney, Henry Klingeman, tells TMZ, “Mike accepts the Court’s judgment. He is looking forward to marrying his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, next month and moving forward together after he serves his sentence.”

Mike looked relaxed on his way out of court, holding Lauren’s hand and flashing a peace sign to the group gathered outside.

Situation’s brother, Marc — who was also indicted at the same time on tax fraud charges — has just been sentenced to 2 years and a $75k fine.

In a statement, Mike’s lawyer Henry Klingeman expressed his feelings on the harsh sentence.

“We’re disappointed. We asked for a probation term, we had hoped for a probation term, we deserved a probation term,” he said. “The judge certainly had the authority to do what she did, she gave her reasons, the fact is it’s a sad day anytime anybody goes to prison, but in a situation like this where Mike Sorrentino has righted his life and is contributing significantly to not only his own well being but that of his greater community, that progress will be interrupted.”

The judge was cool to arrange for The Situation to start the prison sentence after his wedding. Either way, he’ll be spending 8 months behind bars. He’ll probably be swollen for real by next year.
