Trevor Jackson, known for his role in “Grown-ish,” is set to join the cast of ABC’s medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” in a pivotal role. According to Deadline, Jackson will portray a “handsome, intelligent, but arrogant man in his late 20s who has just moved to Seattle.”
Jackson’s debut is slated for Episode 2117, the penultimate episode of Season 21, scheduled to air on May 8, 2025. He will also appear in the Season 21 finale. This role is described as “sought after” and may lead to a series regular position if the show is renewed for a 22nd season. It is unclear whether the character is a new surgical intern/resident.
This casting news has generated significant excitement among fans, especially given Jackson’s previous work in television. His character’s introduction is anticipated to bring fresh dynamics to the series, potentially influencing existing relationships and storylines.
Actor-singer Jackson starred opposite Yara Shahidi on Kenya Barris’ black-ish spinoff for Freeform Grown-ish. He was the only original cast member to remain a series regular for the popular comedy’s entire six-season run.
Before that, Jackson was a leading cast member on another Disney series from the studio behind Grey’s Anatomy and the black-ish franchise. He starred opposite Regina King in Season 2 of John Ridley’s ABC anthology series American Crime.
Jackson, who started his career as a child actor, playing Young Simba on the touring Broadway production of The Lion King, later starred in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid.
“Grey’s Anatomy” continues to evolve, introducing new characters and plotlines that keep audiences engaged. With Jackson’s addition, viewers can look forward to new developments as Season 21 progresses.
