A well-known Atlanta cosmetic dentistry specialist—long celebrated on social media as one of the city’s “go-to veneer gurus”—has been indicted on 113 criminal counts following a months-long investigation into alleged fraudulent practices, authorities announced Thursday.
Accusations of Fraud, Theft, and Unlicensed Procedures
According to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, the specialist—Brandon Dillard—faces a sweeping list of charges, including insurance fraud, theft by deception, practicing without a valid license, and falsifying medical documents.
Investigators say the dentist marketed himself as a top-tier provider of cosmetic veneers, drawing in clients from across Georgia and neighboring states. But behind the glamorous online branding, prosecutors allege he performed procedures without proper authorization and charged patients for services that were either unnecessary or never completed.
Dozens of Patients Come Forward
Authorities say more than 40 patients have filed formal complaints, many reporting severe dental complications, infections, and thousands of dollars in financial loss. Several told investigators they felt pressured into expensive treatment plans or were misled about the long-term effects of veneer work.
Some patients also reported that follow-up appointments were repeatedly canceled, leaving them with unfinished procedures and mounting medical bills.
Investigators Seize Records and Equipment
Following a raid on the dentist’s Buckhead office last month, officials seized patient files, financial records, and equipment allegedly purchased using fraudulent claims. Prosecutors say a deeper audit revealed a “pattern of deception” spanning at least four years.
“The scale of this case is unlike anything we’ve seen in cosmetic dentistry in this state,” a spokesperson for the DA’s Office said. “This indictment reflects a systematic effort to exploit vulnerable patients seeking medical care.”
Specialist Denies Allegations
Through an attorney, the indicted specialist has denied all accusations, calling the charges “politically motivated” and the result of “disgruntled former clients.” A court appearance is scheduled for later this month.
State Dental Board Responds
In light of the charges, the Georgia Board of Dentistry has issued an emergency suspension of the specialist’s license pending the outcome of the criminal case. Officials emphasized the importance of verifying credentials and urged individuals who received treatment to come forward if they experienced complications.
Investigation Continues
Prosecutors say additional charges or arrests may follow as the investigation expands and more alleged victims come forward.
This is a developing story.
