Authorities are investigating after the Los Angeles home of actress Gina Torres was burglarized Friday night, with thieves making off with an estimated $200,000-plus in cash and jewelry, police confirmed.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) says officers responded to the property in the San Fernando Valley around 7 p.m. after receiving a report that windows had been smashed and the house compromised.
According to investigators, a neighbor witnessed two men exiting the residence carrying bags and loading them into a vehicle before fleeing the scene. The suspects were last seen driving away, and no arrests have been made.
Valuable Items Taken
Early reports indicate the burglars stole more than $25,000 in cash along with over $200,000 worth of jewelry from the home of the Suits and 9-1-1: Lone Star star. Torres was not at home during the break-in.
Law enforcement officials have not released descriptions of the suspects or the getaway vehicle, and detectives are reviewing possible surveillance footage. Neighbors have been asked to share any relevant video or information that could aid the investigation.
Efforts by local outlets to reach a representative for Torres for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
A Broader Pattern of High-End Burglaries
The incident comes amid a spate of high-profile burglaries in affluent Los Angeles neighborhoods, where thieves have targeted celebrity homes for cash and jewelry. Police have issued reminders to residents about enhancing home security — including installing cameras, motion detectors, and securing valuables in safe-deposit boxes — as detectives continue to look for leads.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the burglary to contact the LAPD’s property crimes division.
