The Original En Vogue Reunites With All 5 Members Performing At The City Of Hope Event To Honor Sylvia Rhone
Yes! All is right with the world. The original En Vogue is back!
All 5 members- Cindy Herron-Braggs, Dawn Robinson, Terry Ellis, Maxine Jones, and Rhona Bennett came together to give an unforgettable performance at the City of Hope in honor of Epic Records Chairman/CEO Sylvia Rhone.
Sylvia is the first African-American woman to receive the City of Hope’s Spirit of Life Award, and more than 1,200 artists and music industry execs gathered for the celebration, including R&B group En Vogue.
Group member Cindy Herron-Braggs teased the originals return in a cute video on Instagram.
Original group members Maxine Jones and Dawn Robinson also teased in a photo that begin circulating on social media.
Then they confirmed the reunion in a photo with founders and producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy.
Check out some clips from their rehearsal and performance:
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones explained why they left the group. Bottom line — money and contracts. Dawn left in 1997 and Maxine’s exit was in 2001.
Since then, Max has been working on a solo career…
… and Dawn joined another group called Lucy Pearl with artists Raphael Saadiq and Ali Shaheed Muhammad — and made a hit song entitled “Dance Tonight.”
After this, Dawn then embarked on her own solo career.

In the meantime, Cindy and Terry welcomed new En Vogue group member Rhona Bennett and she has been holding it down.
Rhona statement on the special event: “Who knows what the future may bring… but tonight, it brought EV5 in celebration of Slyvia Rhone at the City Of Hope gala.”
Other performers of the night were Yolanda Adams, Alicia Keys, and Sara Bareilles — but this En Vogue reunion took the cake. We’re so happy to see this. Hopefully a tour will be in the near future.
