’The Coach Vick Experience’ Set to Premiere in February — Michael Vick’s Coaching Journey

BET is gearing up to debut a highly anticipated new sports docuseries that chronicles the next chapter in the life of former NFL star Michael Vick. The Coach Vick Experience — often informally referred to as the Michael Vick experience show in early coverage — will premiere on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10 PM ET / 9 PM CT on BET, the network announced.

The series offers an up-close look at Vick’s transition from electrifying NFL quarterback to first-time head coach of the Norfolk State University Spartans football program, marking a dramatic shift in his professional life.

From the Gridiron to the Sidelines

Produced by SMAC Entertainment, the documentary-style series follows Vick as he returns to his home state of Virginia to take on one of the toughest jobs in sports: rebuilding a struggling college football team. With cameras rolling throughout practices, meetings, and games, the show captures the highs and lows of his first season at the helm — a season that tested both his leadership and resilience.

Coaching at Norfolk State isn’t just about wins and losses. It’s about restoring pride and proving that transformation is possible when opportunity meets belief,” Vick said in a statement, also serving as an executive producer on the series.

High-Profile Support Behind the Scenes

The project counts several prominent figures among its executive producers, including Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and fellow football legend Deion Sanders, alongside Vick himself and his wife, Kijafa Vick. BET’s leadership has emphasized that the series reflects broader themes of mentorship, community, and leadership.

Louis Carr, President of BET, said the series “offers an authentic look at Michael Vick’s life as a coach at an HBCU and as a father, grounded in culture and community,” aligning with the network’s long-standing focus on stories tied to Black excellence and empowerment.

More Than Football

While the show centers on the gridiron, it also explores what it means to shape young athletes’ lives off the field, documenting personal moments and the pressure that comes with leading both a team and a legacy.

With weekly episodes scheduled throughout February and beyond — including the premiere during Super Bowl week — The Coach Vick Experience aims to draw viewers into a compelling narrative of growth, accountability, and reinvention.
