Moore will portray the young James “Ghost” St. Patrick, stepping into the role originally made famous by Omari Hardwick. Mann will play the younger Tommy Egan, first brought to life by Joseph Sikora. The series will trace the beginnings of Ghost and Tommy’s partnership as ambitious friends hustling their way through New York City, long before they built an empire — and before betrayal tore them apart.
The Power universe is entering a new chapter — and introducing fresh faces for its most iconic duo. Starz announced Wednesday that Spence Moore II (Brilliant Minds, All American) will play a young James “Ghost” St. Patrick, while Charlie Mann (Virdee, The Watchers) will step into the role of a young Tommy Egan in the upcoming prequel series Power: Origins. The series will explore the beginnings of their friendship and rise on the streets of New York City, laying the foundation for the story that launched one of Starz’s biggest franchises.
Also returning to the franchise is MeKai Curtis, who will reprise his role as Kanan Stark after first portraying the character in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. The spinoff will once again be overseen by Sascha Penn, showrunner of Raising Kanan, ensuring continuity within the ever-expanding Power universe.
Power: Origins marks the fourth installment in the franchise, following Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan (set to conclude with its upcoming fifth season), and Power Book IV: Force, which premieres its third and final season on November 7. A fifth series, Power: Legacy, is also in development, with Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. reprising their roles as Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick.
Starz has ordered 18 episodes of Power: Origins. While no release date has been announced, the series will stream exclusively on the network.
