Stacey Abrams Announces She’s Running For Governor
Stacey Abrams announced that she is running for governor again. The Georgia Democrat shared the news on social media, along with a video to show the people what she has done, and what she can do.
This will be Abrams second attempt at the seat. She ran for governor back in 2018 against the current Governor Brian Kemp.
Kemp released a statement following Abrams’ announcement, implying that her agenda wouldn’t be good for the state of Georgia.
Kemp still has a Republican primary to get through. So far, he’s facing Vernon Jones, but there are rumors that former U.S. Sen. David Perdue could join the race, making that primary very tough.
At this time, there are no other Democrats indicating they are running.
Abrams played a huge part in the voting movement in Georgia, which resulted in a red (Republican) state to turn blue (Democrat).
She won so much trust in Georgia residents, so this governor run could have a different outcome.
