“She Just Wanted Some D#%n Candy!” A Young Father Is Unhinged After Daughter Is Shot While Looking In Grandma’s Purse.
We never wanna hear of a child being hurt in any way. It’s even worse when the child is doing something innocently like going through her Grandmother’s purse searching for candy. This is what happened several days ago in Tampa, Florida when 4 year old Yanelly Zoller lost her life. Lil Nelly’s sweet tooth may have gotten her killed.
Here’s more from our folk over at People.
“A 4-year-old Florida girl has died after accidentally pulling the trigger of a gun in her grandmother’s purse she was looking for candy.
Yanelly “Nelly” Zoller died on Sept. 14 at the Tampa home of her grandparents, Michael and Christie Zoller, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
“She just wanted some damn candy,” her father Shane Zoller, 22, told the newspaper on Wednesday.
Shane said he saw police activity when he came to pick her up on the day of the accident.
The father said that Nelly spent much of her time with her grandparents. He explained that he would have had to drop out of high school if his parents had not pitched in to help raise her.
“She was extremely close to them and would get so excited when she got to stay at her nana’s house,” he said. “She was attached to her nana’s hip.”
Tampa police told the newspaper they are investigating the case, but have no reason to doubt the family’s story.”
Ugh….SO SAD!I really hope that this tragedy will teach this nation as a whole NOT to be so careless when it comes to something as deadly as a firearm. Adults, we MUST do better.
And to you lil Nelly? You can have all of the candy you want now princess. Rest in peace doll.
