Shannon Sharpe and his legal team shared X-rated text messages that are said to be between the NFL Hall of Famer and a woman who is accusing him of sexual assault.
The sexually explicit messages show the accuser allegedly telling the former Denver Bronco, she wants him to “put a dog collar around my neck” and “tie me up and do bad things to me.”
The trove of purported messages “clearly indicates the nature of their relationship was consensual and sexual in nature — and, in many cases, initiated by her with specific and graphic requests,” Sharpe’s attorney Lanny J. Davis said in a statement.
According to the lawsuit, the accuser is suing Sharpe for $50 million, and his attorney states this is a shakedown.
The Lawsuit
The lawsuit, filed in Nevada, alleges that Sharpe, 56, engaged in sexual assault and battery during a two-year consensual relationship with a woman he met in 2023 when she was 22. The plaintiff claims that Sharpe manipulated and controlled her, threatened violence, and ignored her refusals during the alleged assault. Additionally, she accuses Sharpe of threatening to kill her for arriving late to his home and of filming and sharing their sexual encounters without consent.
Davis said Sharpe and the accuser had consensual sex until Jan. 2, 2025 — the day after she allegedly asked for “$25,000 per cheek,” in a message.
Before that message, Sharpe wished her a happy new year and said if she sent him $50,000 she could come over to his house, another alleged message states.
The two also talked about her desire to have a baby with him, including allegedly writing, “only if you put that baby gravy in me, then u can do whatever u want to me” and “i literally ate so much food i look like I’m pregnant with ur big black baby.”
Sharpe, a former NFL tight end and current ESPN analyst, has denied all allegations through a statement from his attorney, describing the claims as a false attempt at blackmail.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, known for handling high-profile sexual assault cases, including those involving Deshaun Watson and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Sharpe’s case is still progressing, and the story is developing. We’ll keep y’all in the know.
