School Superintendent Says 4-Year Old Boy Must Cut His Hair or Wear A Dress
A superintendent at a Tatum, Texas school reportedly told a woman her grandson either had to cut his long hair, braid it, or come to school wearing a dress.
This all started when 4-year-old Michael, also known as “Tink,” arrived at school to meet his teacher but was told his hair needed to change.
Randi Woodley was outraged by what superintendent Dr. J.P. Richardson told her and her grandson– so she immediately took action.
Parents packed Monday night’s school board meeting with Randi, holding signs and demanding change after they claim students are being discriminated against.
Here’s more from WMC 5 News.
Now with parents taking a stand, they hope this sends a message to their children. They will continue to fight for what they believe to be a gender and race issue.
When asked for a comment from the superintendent, he said, “Not yet.”
On Friday, Randi went to Facebook to express her frustration on yet another issue. The school is now saying that they would have to get approval for Tink to wear his hair down on picture day. Absolutely ridiculous!
The fight continues. In the meantime, Tink seems to be enjoying his weekend. Let your hair done son!
